Curry Leaves

Curry leaves are ‘our’ Bay leaves. They are highly aromatic and are added to most curries and some chutneys. They are also used in Ayurvedic medicine.

My parents have a big curry leaf tree in their backyard.

Mum has been trying to grow me one in a pot – but has not been having much luck, so now my aunty Devi is trying! Bless.

So if you are like me and have to keep having to get sprigs of mum, auntys, friends, here are two tricks for storing curry leaves.

  • Put sprigs in an airtight container
  • Put sprigs in a bowl with water and change the water every few days
